Glossary: Monetize Your Audience
Every key term from the course, in plain English. When a lesson says a word you don't know, it lives here.
- The Trust Funnel
- The only order that works: content builds trust, trust starts conversations, conversations become clients. Skip a stage and the funnel stalls.
- The Ascension Ladder
- The planned customer path: free content, then a low-ticket offer ($47–$197), then a core offer ($497–$2,500), then a premium tier ($3,000+). Each rung earns the right to sell the next one.
- The Inbound Engine
- Audience plus authority plus offer equals clients who come to you. Built on public generosity and private clarity — the opposite of cold outreach.
- Engaged core
- The people who interact with your content in a typical month — commenters, repliers, sharers, messengers. This number, not your follower count, is your real audience.
- Offer
- A packaged promise: one problem, one outcome, one price. Named like a product, sold like a result.
- Value pricing
- Pricing based on the outcome's worth to the buyer rather than your hours. Checked with the 10x rule: perceived value should feel like ten times the price.
- Discovery call
- A short conversation (usually 15–30 minutes) to learn a prospect's situation before proposing anything. Diagnose before you prescribe.
- Soft launch
- A quiet 7-day launch sequence to your warmest audience — tease, story, invite, close — used to validate an offer and gather testimonials.
- Founding-member round
- A first launch at a lower price in explicit exchange for feedback and testimonials. Produces proof for the second launch.
- DM bridge
- The permission-based question that moves a DM conversation toward your offer — asked only after discovery, never sent cold.
- Productize
- Turning your service process into a scalable product: document the steps, package the system, price around one-tenth of the service.
- Retainer
- A client paying monthly for ongoing work — typically $1,500–$5,000/mo for done-for-you services. The foundation of recurring revenue.
- Income stack
- The three revenue layers built in order: client revenue, then product revenue, then recurring revenue. One audience monetized three ways.
- Evidence that your promise works: testimonials, results, case studies, client wins. The fuel of the 'prove' content type.
- Lead magnet
- A free resource (checklist, template, guide) offered in exchange for contact details. Rung 2 of the Ascension Ladder in lead form.
