Fluent Collective

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 21, 2026

This page explains what Fluent Collective collects when you use fluent.spot, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We've written it in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask us at thefluentcollective@gmail.com.

The short version: we collect what we need to run the site, your account, and the courses. We don't sell your personal information, and we never will.

What we collect

Your account. When you create a free account, we store your email address and the display name you choose. Passwords are handled by Supabase, our accounts provider — they're stored encrypted on their side, and we never see yours.

Your learning. As you take courses, we store the things that make the platform work: lessons you've finished, quiz and exam results, XP, your Career Track work (capstone checklists, sprint progress, the clients you add to your own application tracker), certificates you've earned, and your earn balance. If you use the courses as a guest, that progress is stored in your browser only, and it's tied to your account if you later sign in on the same device.

Things you send us. If you fill in the contact form on the homepage, we get your name, email, and whatever you tell us about your business. If you ask a question through Ask-a-Pro, we get the question and your account email so we can send you the answer.

Technical data. We use PostHog for analytics — which pages get visited, which buttons get clicked, and basic device and browser details. We use Sentry for error tracking, which means that when something breaks, we receive the error, the page it happened on, and browser details so we can fix it. Neither tool gets your password, and we don't use them to build advertising profiles. Analytics runs by default; it honors your browser's Do Not Track setting, and any standard tracker blocker stops it. Error tracking runs regardless, because we can't fix what we can't see.

How we use it

  • To run your account and keep your course progress in sync across your devices.
  • To track your earn balance, exam results, and certificates.
  • To answer your questions and reply to inquiries about working with us.
  • To send the emails described below.
  • To find and fix bugs, and to see which courses and pages people actually use so we can make them better.

That's the whole list. We don't sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone.

Email we send

Some email is part of having an account: confirmation messages, password resets, answers to questions you asked, and notes about your course progress. If you contact us about services, we'll reply to that conversation. You can ask us to stop progress emails at any time by replying to one or writing to us — account and security messages will still go out while you have an account, because the account can't work without them.

Cookies and local storage

The courses platform stores your progress, preferences, and sign-in session in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device unless you're signed in, in which case progress also syncs to your account as described above. PostHog uses cookies or local storage to tell one visit from another. Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the site, may set cookies needed for security and performance. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time — just know that clearing local storage erases guest progress stored on that device.

Who else touches the data

We run the site on a small set of service providers, and only they process your data on our behalf:

  • Supabase — accounts and the database that holds your progress.
  • Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and site security.
  • PostHog — usage analytics.
  • Sentry — error tracking.
  • Resend — sending email.

The only other time we'd share personal information is if the law requires it, or if it's needed to protect the site and its users from abuse.

How long we keep it

Account and learning data stays while your account is active, so your progress is there when you come back. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data from our systems, except where we have to keep a record for legal or accounting reasons. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form.

Your rights

Your data is yours. You can:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that's wrong — most of it you can edit in your profile.
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal data.
  • Ask for a copy of your data.

Write to thefluentcollective@gmail.com and we'll handle it within 30 days.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, and account passwords are managed by Supabase with industry-standard hashing. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the data we collect to a minimum and use providers with strong security practices.

Children

Fluent Collective is built for adults running or growing businesses. The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and where it makes sense we'll let account holders know by email.
