Become a Brand & Social Designer
By the end of this course you will be able to work as a brand and social designer: logo suites and guidelines that hold a brand together, template systems that turn one design week into months of consistent posts, ad creative priced like it matters — plus the portfolio, packages, and client pipeline to get paid for it. The three rate tiers in here are the real 2026 market, including the commodity trap at the bottom.

Module 0
Module 0: Start Here
Before software, before pricing, before portfolios: this module sets the frame for the whole course. You will learn what a brand & social designer actually sells (it is not graphics), how to train your eye on purpose, and how to set up a workspace and a practice brand you will design for across the next ten modules.

Module 1
Module 1: The Job in 2026
Design skill gets you started; market knowledge gets you paid. This module maps who hires brand & social designers, lays out the three pay tiers without flattery, explains what automated tools are doing to the bottom of the market, and shows why narrowing your niche is the fastest raise you will ever give yourself.

Module 2
Module 2: Design Foundations
Every strong piece of brand design is four decisions made well: type, color, hierarchy, and spacing. This module trains those dials by hand, then applies them to the feed — where safe zones, contrast, and the half-second thumb-stop test decide whether anyone ever sees your craft — and closes with the file discipline that separates professionals from hobbyists.

Module 3
Module 3: Brand Identity
This is the module that turns a post-maker into a brand designer. You will build the logo suite in its working shapes, design palette and type systems that survive real use, write the guidelines document that makes you the authority on the brand, and see exactly what separates an $800 starter identity from a $5,000 full system — using your practice brand from Module 0 throughout.

Module 4
Module 4: Social Design Systems
This is where design stops being a stack of one-off graphics and becomes a business. A template system lets you produce a month of on-brand posts in hours instead of days — and it's the thing clients actually retain you for. This module covers building the system, the formats that carry it, and the ad creative that prices above everything else.

Module 5
Module 5: Working Process
Talent gets you hired once. Process gets you rehired. This module is the unglamorous machinery that keeps design work profitable: briefs that surface problems before you've designed anything, revision rules that stop the endless loop, and delivery habits that make clients feel looked after.

Module 6
Module 6: Portfolio and Proof
Designers get hired from proof, not promises — and you don't need a client to start building it. This module builds the three pieces that sell design work: one complete spec brand, a social set that shows a system working, and the case framing that turns pictures into evidence.

Module 7
Module 7: Numbers and Pricing
Design pricing confuses everyone because the same pair of hands sells $5 posts at one end of the market and $150-an-hour judgment at the other. This module sorts out the three ways design gets sold — per asset, per package, per retainer — and the math for knowing which one a given job deserves.

Module 8
Module 8: Find Clients
Clients don't buy graphics — they buy a brand that looks like itself everywhere, without them having to think about it. This module turns your skills into offers: three packages priced from real 2026 rates, a pitch that shows the problem instead of describing it, a paid trial that protects your work, and an onboarding system that makes month one feel easy.

Module 9
Module 9: Keep Clients and Grow
Landing a design retainer is the start of the economics, not the end — US freelancer design retainers run $700–3,000 a month, and the ones that last a year are worth more than a dozen one-off projects. This module covers the rhythm that keeps them, the scope conversations that protect them, and the climb that grows one design client into a brand partnership.

Module 10
Module 10: Find a Job
The employed track trades freelance upside for a ladder: mid-tier specialists earn roughly $70–100K a year, and strategic design roles reach $100–200K+. Studios and agencies hire portfolios, not résumés — this module covers where the roles are, how to apply, how to handle the design test without giving your work away, and how to negotiate once they want you.
