Glossary: The Content Machine
Every key term from the course, in plain English. When a lesson says a word you don't know, it lives here.
- Bedrock Loop
- The six-stage system: Survey → Bedrock → Crush → Scatter → Listen → Echo. One substantial piece per week, multiplied by the system.
- Bedrock
- The one substantial thing you make each week — the long video, deep article, or full episode. Everything else is extracted from it.
- Pebbles
- The small native pieces crushed from bedrock: clips, quote cards, threads, tips, replies. The multiplied output of the loop.
- Survey
- The planning stage: claiming territories, mining comments for questions, choosing the week's bedrock topic before creating anything.
- Territories
- The 3–5 topics you own — the subjects your audience expects from you. Bedrock topics are chosen inside territories, never outside.
- Comment mine
- Your comments, replies, and DMs treated as a content goldmine. Questions asked repeatedly are bedrock topics waiting to happen.
- Crush
- The extraction pass: breaking bedrock into pebbles — timestamps for clips, quotable lines for cards, arguments for threads.
- Scatter
- Native distribution: each pebble reformatted for its platform. Same ideas, native shapes — never copy-pasted across platforms.
- Native
- Content shaped for the platform it lives on: vertical with captions for shorts, threaded for X, visual for Instagram. The opposite of cross-posting.
- Listen
- The stage where you read comments, replies, and DMs as data. What the audience asks about is what you make next.
- Echo
- Returning to what worked: expanding a popular reply into a post, a post into bedrock, a bedrock into a series. The loop's compounding mechanism.
- 1-to-12 rule
- The multiplication benchmark: one bedrock should yield roughly twelve pebbles. Fewer means you're under-extracting.
