Module 5: The 100-Day System

Six modules of training become a system you run for 100 days. The rotation, the testing habit, and the tracking that turns practice into proof.

Build your daily practice

You have spent five modules building individual muscles. Now it is time to assemble them into a training program — because a course ends, but the workout should not. The 100-day system is simple: one Daily Rep every day for 100 days, rotating through the four muscle groups (clarity, customer-focus, persuasion, proof).

Here is the rotation: Monday and Thursday are clarity days (simplify something, read something aloud). Tuesday and Friday are customer days (run the WIIFM filter, write to your one person). Wednesday is persuasion day (ten headlines, one curiosity rewrite). Saturday is proof day (upgrade a testimonial, add a number). Sunday is rest — or a light rep if you are on a streak you refuse to break.

Start day one tomorrow, not "someday." Put the rotation on your calendar as a recurring 15-minute block. Tell one person you are doing it — public commitment is a cheat code for consistency. The system works if you work the system. One hundred days from now, you will not recognize your own copy.

Build brief

Write out your 100-day rotation: which days for which muscle groups? What 15-minute slot? Who will you tell for accountability?

Test everything

Here is the secret the pros know: nobody knows what will work until it runs. The best copywriters in the world are wrong constantly — the difference is they test, so they find out fast. Your opinions about your own copy are guesses. Tests turn guesses into knowledge.

You do not need fancy tools to start. The simplest test in the world: run two headlines. Show version A to half your traffic (or send to half your list), version B to the other half, and count which one wins. Email subject lines are the easiest starting point — most email tools split-test them in two clicks. Then graduate to landing page headlines, then calls to action.

Test one thing at a time, or you will not know what caused the win. And write down every result — "Headline B beat A by 34% on March 3" — because your testing log becomes an unfair advantage: a private database of what your specific audience responds to. Opinions are guesses. Tests are answers. Run the test.

What's ONE thing in your business you could split-test this week? Write the two versions you'd test.

Track your improvement

What gets measured gets improved, and copywriting is no exception. Your Daily Rep log (from Module 0) is already a training journal. Now add outcomes: alongside each rep, note what you were trying to improve and, when you can, what happened. "Day 41: rewrote pricing headline. Click-through up 22%."

Once a month, do a formal review. Pull up copy you wrote 30 days ago and rewrite it cold, without looking at your notes. Compare the new version to the old. The gap between them is your progress made visible — and on the days you feel like you are not improving, that comparison is the evidence that you are.

Finally, keep a swipe file of copy that moved you — the email you opened, the ad you clicked, the page that sold you. Annotate each one: what muscle is it using? Clarity? A curiosity gap? Killer proof? Your swipe file is a personal textbook written by the market itself. One hundred days of reps, tests, and tracking. That is the whole system. There is no step six.

Build brief

Start your swipe file: find 3 pieces of copy that moved you recently (opened, clicked, bought). For each, name the muscle it used.

Dev has been doing Daily Reps for 60 days but isn't sure he's improving. What's the most useful thing he can do?

Your turn: Your 100-day launch plan: (1) your daily 15-minute slot, (2) your weekly rotation, (3) the one person you'll tell, (4) day one date. Write it as a commitment, sign it with today's date.

Your next 24 hours

Day one starts tomorrow: put the 15-minute block on your calendar as recurring, tell one person you're doing the 100 days, and do your first rotation rep.

Module 5 cheat sheet

  • The rotation: Mon/Thu clarity, Tue/Fri customer, Wed persuasion, Sat proof, Sun rest.
  • Start day one tomorrow. Calendar block + one accountability person.
  • Test one thing at a time. Opinions are guesses; tests are answers.
  • Log every test result. Your log becomes an unfair advantage.
  • Monthly review: rewrite month-old copy cold. The gap is your progress.
  • Keep a swipe file. Annotate what muscle each piece uses.
