The Copywriting Workout
Most copywriting courses teach theory and hope you absorb it. This one trains you like an athlete: daily reps and drills for clarity, customer focus, persuasion, and proof — so by the end, sharp copy is a reflex, not an effort.
No prerequisites — pairs well with Copywriting — Fluent Collective Courses.
Reading about copywriting never made anyone a copywriter. In six modules you'll train like an athlete: clarity drills that kill jargon, customer-first drills that rewire every sentence around the reader, persuasion drills for headlines that pull clicks, and proof drills that make belief automatic. One Daily Rep, every day. Do the reps and sharp copy becomes your default setting.
What you’ll learn
- Run every sentence through the WIIFM Filter — cut or rewrite anything that doesn't answer "what's in it for me?"
- Build a personal Power Word Bank of emotional trigger words, organized by the emotion they trigger
- Write ten headlines per draft and score them — specificity, payoff, curiosity gap — shipping only the winners
- Run a 100-day practice system: daily reps, weekly rotation, split-tests, and monthly reviews
Is this for me?
Who is this course for?
Anyone who writes copy for their business and suspects practice would beat more theory. You don't need to be "a writer" — the whole premise is that copywriting is a trainable muscle, not a talent. If you've read copywriting advice but your actual pages never changed, this is your course.
What do I need before starting?
Something real to practice on — your website, your emails, your product descriptions. The drills work best against your own copy, but practicing on anyone's copy builds the muscle. Fifteen minutes a day is the only other requirement.
How long does it take?
Six modules, about 30–45 minutes each of learning. Most people finish in two weeks — and then the real program begins: the 100-day system in Module 5, one Daily Rep at a time.
Module 0
Module 0: Start Here
Why this course trains you instead of lecturing you. Copywriting is a muscle — here's the workout plan that builds it, one Daily Rep at a time.

Module 1
Module 1: Clarity Drills
The foundation of all good copy: simple words, a human voice, zero jargon. Three drills that make clarity your default setting.

Module 2
Module 2: Customer-First Drills
Great copy is never about you — it's about the reader. Three drills that rewire your writing around the customer's needs, not your ego.

Module 3
Module 3: Persuasion Drills
Persuasion is a trainable skill, not a personality trait. Drills for power words, headline volume, and curiosity gaps that pull readers in.

Module 4
Module 4: Proof Drills
Claims are cheap; proof is persuasive. Drills for testimonials that convert, killing superlatives with specificity, and demonstrating value instead of begging for belief.

Module 5
Module 5: The 100-Day System
Six modules of training become a system you run for 100 days. The rotation, the testing habit, and the tracking that turns practice into proof.
Choose your track
Not everyone needs the same path. Pick the one that fits where you are.
Quick-reps track
Modules 0–1 plus the Daily Rep: fifteen minutes every morning on clarity drills only. Perfect if your copy is currently dense and jargony — fix the foundation first, add the other muscles later.
Steady track
All modules in order, one per week, Daily Rep every day. By week six you'll have trained all four muscle groups and built the 100-day system in Module 5. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
Intensive track
All modules in two weeks, two Daily Reps per day (morning clarity, evening persuasion). Then straight into the 100-day system at full rotation. For when a launch is coming and the copy has to be ready.

Teardown: one weak product description, one strong one
The weak description: "Our revolutionary, best-in-class productivity suite leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver amazing results for modern professionals." Twenty-one words — and not a single one survives the drills. Run it through Module 1's clarity drill: "revolutionary," "best-in-class," "leverages," "cutting-edge," "modern professionals" — five jargon phrases, zero plain words. Read it aloud and it sounds like a press release, not a person. Run it through the WIIFM Filter: what does the reader get? Nothing specific. "Amazing results" for whom, doing what?
The strong description: "Finish your workday by 5pm. Our app turns your scattered to-do list into one clear plan each morning — most users save 6 hours a week." Twenty-eight words, every drill passed. Clarity: no word over three syllables that needs replacing, and it reads like something you'd say to a friend. WIIFM: the first sentence is pure reader payoff. Specificity: "6 hours a week" instead of "amazing results." One person: it's written to the overworked professional, not "modern professionals" in the abstract.
Now score both on the headline test from Module 3. The weak one's implied headline — "Revolutionary Productivity Suite" — scores 0/3: not specific, no payoff promised, no curiosity gap. The strong one's headline — "Finish your workday by 5pm" — scores 3/3: specific (5pm), payoff (your evenings back), gap (how?). Same product underneath. Different muscle.
What most people would get wrong: they'd try to fix the weak description by adding more adjectives — "incredibly revolutionary," "truly best-in-class." More hype on a broken foundation. The drills say the opposite: strip it to plain words first, then add one specific number, then check every sentence against WIIFM. Subtraction before addition, always.
The lesson: weak copy performs for the writer; strong copy performs for the reader. Every drill in this course is a version of that shift — simpler words, one real person, emotional precision, concrete proof. Run the reps and the shift becomes automatic.
