Glossary

Every key term from this course, in plain English. If a lesson ever uses a word that makes you pause, it'll be here.

7:1 Rhythm
The sustainable cadence: roughly seven genuine gives for every one ask. Keeps your audience feeling served, not sold to.
Earned Ask
A pitch you've earned the right to make through consistent prior giving. The opposite of a cold ask — the audience wants to hear it.
Equip give
The give that hands people a tool: checklists, templates, calculators, scripts. The most saved-and-shared give type.
Give Debt
The accumulated goodwill from consistent giving. When you've deposited enough value, an ask doesn't feel like an interruption.
Give-First Ledger
Your running tally of gives vs. asks. If the ledger is all withdrawals, your audience feels sold to. Keep it in surplus.
Native Give
A give shaped for the platform it's on — a tutorial Reel, a text thread, a long YouTube breakdown. Not cross-posted, but native.
Soft ask
A low-pressure invitation: 'link in bio if you want it.' Lets interested buyers self-select without alienating everyone else.
Direct ask
A clear, explicit pitch: what it is, what it costs, where to buy. Works only after the ledger is full — never cold.
Signal
Evidence your giving is landing: saves, shares, DMs, replies, email signups. Read monthly to know what to give more of.
Connect give
The give that introduces people to each other — shoutouts, community threads, introductions. Builds loyalty fastest.
Teach give
The fastest trust-builder: show someone how to do something useful, free, with nothing held back.
Entertain give
The attention magnet: content people enjoy for its own sake. Earns the eyeballs that your teaches then convert.
Inspire give
Stories of transformation — yours or others'. Gives people the belief that the outcome is possible for them too.
Monthly review ritual
The Module 6 habit: once a month, score your gives by signal, kill what isn't landing, double down on what is.
