Give-First Marketing

Nobody owes you their attention. You earn it — seven gives for every ask. That's the 7:1 Rhythm, and it's the whole game. Seven modules teach you the five kinds of gives, how to deliver them natively on every platform, how to read the room, and when you've finally earned the right to make the Earned Ask. Give first. Ask later. Win always.

What you’ll learn

  • Build a Give-First Ledger and run the 7:1 Rhythm of gives to asks
  • Master the five kinds of gives and match each one natively to its platform
  • Earn the ask, so every pitch feels like the natural next step instead of a cold one
  • Read the room and build your 90-day give-first plan at the right cadence

Is this for me?

Who is this course for?

Anyone tired of shouting 'buy my stuff' into the void — creators, freelancers, small businesses, nonprofits. It works on every platform because it's about human behavior, not algorithms.

What do I need before starting?

Something to eventually sell or offer. The gives build toward an ask — if you have nothing to ask for yet, the system still works, you just bank the goodwill in your Give-First Ledger until you do.

How long does it take?

Seven modules of learning, then the 90-day plan in Module 7. But the 7:1 Rhythm is a habit, not a project — you're not done when the course ends, you're just calibrated.

Module 3: Native Gives, Platform by Platform

The same give lands differently on every platform. A Native Give is a give shaped to fit the platform's format and culture — not a repurposed ad. Here's what giving looks like where your audience actually scrolls.

Teardown: The Skincare Brand That Gives Nothing

They have 120,000 Instagram followers and a beautiful feed. Every post is a product shot, a sale announcement, or an influencer holding the jar. Their engagement rate? Under 1%. Their email list? 4,000 people, mostly from a one-time giveaway. Let's run them through the give-first framework.

What's working: The product photography is genuinely good, and they've figured out distribution — 120k followers doesn't happen by accident. They understand consistency (Module 5's cadence principle), just pointed at the wrong thing.

Where it breaks: Their Give-First Ledger (Module 1) is empty. Scroll back six months: zero teaches, zero equips, zero entertains that isn't an ad. Every post is an ask wearing a costume. Followers aren't stupid — they can feel the difference between "here's how to layer serums for dry skin" and "BUY OUR SERUM (20% OFF)." The course fix: flip the ratio to 7:1 (Module 5). Seven genuine gives — routine guides, ingredient explainers, skin-type quizzes — for every ask.

The deeper problem: They've never made a native give (Module 3). Their idea of "content" is repurposed ad creative. A 60-second "why your moisturizer pills under sunscreen" Reel would outperform their last twenty product posts combined, because it gives first and sells nothing. One equipment-style give per week — a routine builder, a printable ingredient checklist — would start the save-and-share flywheel their feed has never had.

The verdict: This is a Module 1 failure at scale. They don't have a content problem or a product problem — they have a generosity problem. The ledger is all withdrawals, no deposits. Seven gives per ask, sustained for 90 days (Module 7), would transform this account. The followers are already there. The trust isn't.
