Idea to Inventory
By the end of this course you will be able to take a physical product from a sketch in your notes to boxes on a shelf: a complete tech pack a factory can build from, three to five real supplier quotes on the same spec, samples reviewed and tested the way factories test them, and a true landed cost you can price from with confidence.

Module 0
Module 0: Start Here
Product development is the unglamorous work between having an idea and having inventory: specifying the product exactly, finding who can make it, proving they can, and landing it at a cost that leaves you margin. This module maps the whole road so every later step has a place to land.

Module 1
Module 1: Pick a Product That Survives Sourcing
An idea is not a product until its numbers work at a quantity you can actually order. This module runs the math first — retail price, landed cost, minimums, variants — then validates demand, then locks it all into a one-page brief.

Module 2
Module 2: Build the Tech Pack
The tech pack is the document factories actually build from — materials, measurements, construction, artwork, packaging, and the quality limits that define a defect. This module builds one page by page, using a grip sock as the worked example.

Module 3
Module 3: Find Suppliers
Sourcing is a comparison exercise: the same tech pack, quoted by several vetted factories, scored the same way. This module covers where suppliers are found, how to vet before you chat, and the RFQ message that gets real numbers back.

Module 4
Module 4: Sampling & Negotiation
Samples are where paper meets reality. This module climbs the sample ladder — proto, fit, pre-production — reviews each round against the tech pack, negotiates the whole deal (not just unit price), and tests the product the way customers will abuse it.

Module 5
Module 5: Production to Landed
The final module turns an approved sample into inventory you can sell: the purchase order and payment schedule, inspection that catches what photos hide, freight and duties translated into plain English, and the landed-cost sheet plus reorder system that make the second order boring.
