Become a Podcast Producer
By the end of this course you will be able to produce podcasts professionally: clean, well-structured episodes mastered to standard, show notes and clips that travel, a production pipeline that never misses a release date — plus the portfolio, packages, and client pipeline to get paid for it. The rate ladder in here, from $30 episode edits to $5,000-a-month management retainers, is the real 2026 market.

Module 0
Module 0: Start Here
Podcast work gets lumped under one word — "editing" — when it's really three different jobs paying three very different rates. This module sorts out which job is which, why the best-paid people in this trade are the reliable ones rather than the fanciest, and how to set up a practice lab so your first edited episode exists before Module 1 ends.

Module 1
Module 1: The Job in 2026
Podcast production is bought by creators, brands, agencies, and networks, and each one is purchasing a slightly different thing. This module maps who hires, lays out the full rate ladder with real 2026 numbers, runs the freelance-vs-employed math honestly, and explains why the producer's deliverable set now includes video and clips, not just audio.

Module 2
Module 2: Audio Foundations
Every edit sits on top of the raw recording, and the raw recording is where episodes are won or lost. This module teaches you to diagnose what's wrong with a track in the first thirty seconds, run a cleanup chain in the right order using your ears instead of preset stacks, and deliver files at the loudness standard every platform and client expects.

Module 3
Module 3: The Edit
Cleanup makes audio listenable; the edit makes it worth listening to. This module works from the top down: the structural edit that shapes the episode's story, the judgment calls on filler and dead air, placing music and ads without breaking the listener's flow, and the multi-cam video edit that modern clients expect alongside the audio.

Module 4
Module 4: Show Packaging
The edit makes an episode good. The packaging decides whether anyone ever hears it. Show notes, clips, and titles are the producer's share of the click — this module covers each one as a craft, not an afterthought you type up while the file exports.

Module 5
Module 5: Production Systems
Talent gets you a first episode. Systems get you a fiftieth. This module builds the machinery behind the release calendar: a pipeline with written turnaround standards, a guest workflow that prevents bad audio before it happens, and the templates and batching that keep your hours honest.

Module 6
Module 6: Launching Shows
A launch is the highest-stakes work a producer sells: a new show, no audience yet, and a pile of setup that has to be right before episode one exists publicly. This module covers what a launch includes, how to run it over 2–4 weeks, and how the engagements are priced.

Module 7
Module 7: Portfolio and Proof
Nobody hires a producer from a résumé. They hire from what they can hear and from a record they can check. This module builds both: audio proof that demonstrates your ears in a minute, a spec re-edit you can show without lying about it, and case studies that turn finished work into the next client.

Module 8
Module 8: Numbers and Pricing
Producing pays well when the math is done before the work starts. This module covers the two ways producers charge — per episode and on retainer — the scope lines that keep a good rate from quietly collapsing, and how to raise prices once your calendar fills.

Module 9
Module 9: Find Clients
Podcast clients are unusually easy to find — every show announces itself, publishes on a schedule, and wears its production quality in public. This module turns that into a pipeline: packages built on the real rate ladder, a pitch built around a 60-second sample edit, paid trials, and onboarding that protects the release calendar from day one.

Module 10
Module 10: Find a Job
The employed path trades the freelance ladder's ceiling for a salary, a team, and someone else's client pipeline. This module covers where producer jobs actually live, how to apply with proof instead of claims, the test edit that decides most hires, and how to negotiate and start well.
