Module 0: Start Here

Before you dive in — how this course works, what you'll build, and how to get the most out of every module.

What You'll Actually Build

By the end of this course you'll have a real, working business website — not a demo, not a template you don't understand, but a site you built yourself and can change whenever you want. You'll pick the domain, set up hosting, build the pages, write the words, handle the design basics, and launch it properly with analytics and backups in place.

Here's what that looks like in practice: Module 1 forces the hard decisions first (what's the site for, what pages it needs). Module 2 gets you a domain and hosting. Module 3 builds the actual pages. Module 4 makes them look decent on a phone. Module 5 handles the launch checklist most people skip. Module 6 sets up the routine that keeps the site working after launch day.

How to Use This Course

Each module has three short lessons. Read a lesson, then hit Mark lesson complete — you'll earn XP for every one, and your progress saves automatically. After the lessons, each module has a quiz: pick the right answer to bank more XP. Quizzes aren't tests you can fail — they're checks that the idea landed.

You'll also see build brief prompts throughout — short questions like "what's your website's one job?" Write your answers right there. They save to your account, and at the end you can download them all as a designed PDF: your build brief. If you ever want us to build the site for you instead, that document becomes the project brief — no starting over.

Work the modules in order. Each one assumes you did the previous one. Budget about 30–45 minutes per module, and don't rush Module 1 — the planning you do there makes everything after it faster.

Your Time Commitment

Realistically: six modules, roughly four to five hours of learning total, plus the time you spend actually building. Most people spread it over two weeks — a module every couple of days, building as they go. That's the fastest path: learn a module, then immediately do that part of your site while it's fresh.

The build itself takes longer than the course. A simple business site takes most people one to three weekends of focused work. That's normal. The course is designed so you're never stuck wondering "what do I do next" — the next step is always the next module.
