Glossary: The Viral Video System
Every key term from the course, in plain English. When a lesson says a word you don't know, it lives here.
- Publish Loop
- The five-stage operating system: Plan → Film → Cut → Post → Review. Run it weekly and output becomes automatic.
- Idea bank
- Your captured raw material, organized by column (Teach, Entertain, Prove, Invite). The Plan stage draws from it; it should never run dry.
- Run-sheet
- The filming-day document: hook, beats, b-roll needs, closing — for each video. Eliminates 'what do I film next' paralysis.
- Rough cut
- The first edit pass: assemble the story in order, no polish. If the rough cut is boring, no amount of polish fixes it.
- Retention edit
- The second pass: remove every dull second — filler words, pauses, repeated points, slow transitions. Watch time is won here.
- Pre-publish checklist
- The final ten minutes before posting: caption, hook text, hashtags, pinned comment plan, thumbnail check. Catches the small misses that cost the first hour.
- 48-Hour Check
- The Review stage ritual: 48 hours after posting, record views, watch-through, follows, and shares/saves. Data, not feelings.
- Format bank
- Your proven templates — the structures that outperformed. When a format wins, it enters the bank and gets reused with new topics.
- Batching
- Filming or editing multiple videos in one session. Setup happens once; output multiplies. The unglamorous core of consistency.
- Cadence
- Your publishing rhythm. The loop makes cadence a calendar event, not a motivation event.
- Watch-through rate
- Percentage of viewers finishing the video. Tracked per video in the 48-Hour Check; the feed's favorite metric.
- The deep-engagement signals. A video with high saves/shares relative to views tells the feed it's valuable, not just watchable.
