Advanced SEO
SEO fundamentals tell you what to do. This course teaches you how to do it at a level that actually moves rankings — the keyword research, technical fixes, content depth, and link building that separate page one from page nowhere. Eight modules, done the manual way.
No prerequisites — pairs well with SEO Fundamentals — Fluent Collective Courses
Page one of Google is not a lottery ticket. It is the predictable result of doing the right things in the right order — finding keywords you can actually win, building pages that deserve to rank, fixing the technical foundation under everything, and earning links that count. In eight modules you will learn the full system: how search really works, how to research like a strategist, how to build a content moat competitors cannot copy overnight, and how to measure everything so every quarter gets better than the last.
What you’ll learn
- Research keywords by search intent and find the gaps your competitors left open — using the Click Map to win queries you can actually rank for
- Fix the technical foundation: speed, mobile experience, sitemaps, and schema markup that help search engines understand and trust your site
- Build a Content Moat — deep, fresh content that matches exactly what the searcher wants and holds its rankings
- Earn quality backlinks with white-hat outreach, track every one in your Link Ledger, and measure it all in Search Console
Is this for me?
Who is this course for?
People who know the SEO basics — title tags, backlinks, keywords — but have never built a real plan. If you finished SEO Fundamentals or you run a site that gets some search traffic and you want much more, this is your next step.
What do I need before starting?
A website you control and a free Google Search Console account. That is the whole toolkit. Everything is taught by hand — spreadsheets, the search results page, and Search Console. No paid SEO software required.
How long does it take?
Eight modules, roughly an hour of learning plus doing each. Most people work through it over a month, applying every module to their own site as they go — the homework IS the SEO work.
Module 0
Module 0: Start Here
How search really works: crawling, indexing, and ranking — and why the famous "200 ranking factors" matter less than the handful that actually move the needle.

Module 1
Module 1: Keyword Research, Properly
Search intent, long-tail strategy, and competitive gap analysis — how to find keywords you can actually win instead of fighting giants for words you cannot.

Module 2
Module 2: On-Page Mastery
Titles, headers, content structure, keyword placement, and internal linking architecture — the page-level work that turns a good page into a ranking page.

Module 3
Module 3: Technical SEO
Site speed, mobile-first indexing, sitemaps, robots, and schema markup — the foundation work that lets everything else rank.

Module 4
Module 4: Content That Ranks
Depth, freshness, intent matching, and the refresh playbook — how to build content that earns its place and keeps it.

Module 5
Module 5: Link Building
White-hat outreach, guest posting for brand, digital PR, and the Link Ledger — earning the votes that move rankings, and knowing exactly where the line is.

Module 6
Module 6: Local & SERP Features
Google Business Profiles, reviews, featured snippets, and People Also Ask — winning the parts of the results page that sit above the blue links.

Module 7
Module 7: Measure & Iterate
Search Console, reading the numbers, and the quarterly SEO flywheel — the measurement habit that turns effort into compounding results.
Choose your track
Not everyone needs the same path. Pick the one that fits where you are.
Foundation track
Modules 0–2: how search works, keyword research, on-page mastery. Get your existing pages optimized before building anything new — the biggest wins are usually already sitting on your site.
Builder track
All eight modules in order. Audit your site, fix the technical foundation, then build the content moat one topic cluster at a time. One quarter, one full system.
Authority track
Modules 4–7 on repeat: publish the content moat, run outreach every week, and read Search Console monthly. This is the long game — authority compounds, and the ledger proves it.

Teardown: one weak page, one strong page
The keyword is "emergency plumber austin". The weak page: title tag reads "Home | ABC Plumbing". Two hundred words of generic copy about "quality service since forever". No headers at all — just bold text pretending to be headings. The phone number is buried in the footer. No reviews, no service area list, no mention of Austin anywhere except the contact page. Images are 4MB each and the page takes eight seconds to load on a phone. It ranks on page six, which is the same as not existing.
The strong page: title tag "Emergency Plumber in Austin — 60-Minute Response | ABC Plumbing". H1 matches the searcher's intent exactly. The first paragraph says who, where, and how fast. An H2 section lists every neighborhood served. Real customer reviews are embedded on the page. An FAQ section answers the exact questions Google shows under "People also ask" for this query. LocalBusiness schema markup tells Google the hours, area, and phone number in code. A click-to-call button sits at the top on mobile. The page loads in under two seconds.
Run both through the Click Map. The weak page fails at step one: its title doesn't match the query, so it never earns the click. The strong page wins the click with a title that mirrors the search, then holds the visitor with content that answers the real question — "can someone get here fast?" Every element on the strong page exists to move the searcher one step closer to calling.
What most people would get wrong: they would start by building links to the weak page. Links to a page that doesn't deserve to rank are wasted effort — Google has gotten very good at seeing through it. This course's whole point is the order of operations: deserve it first, then earn the votes.
The lesson: the strong page isn't magic — it is eight modules of this course applied to one keyword. Intent-matched title, structured content, technical speed, local signals, and review proof. That is what page one looks like up close.
