Year one of your business starts today. 365 days, eight modules: pick your Vehicle, survive the Paid Pain test, sharpen one skill in a Skill Sprint, land clients with a manual Outreach Engine, and build the Delivery Playbook that makes year two bigger. This is the entire first year mapped out — what to do, in what order, on roughly which day. No more guessing what comes next.

What you’ll learn

  • Pick your vehicle with the Vehicle principle: cash first, scale later
  • Validate with Paid Pain: sell the transformation before you build the product
  • Sharpen one skill in a Skill Sprint and prove it on your Proof Wall
  • Run a manual Outreach Engine and land your first clients with revenue math that works

Is this for me?

Who is this course for?

Anyone starting from zero who wants the entire first year mapped out — what to do, in what order, on roughly which day. If you already have revenue coming in, skip this and take the specific courses you need instead.

What do I need before starting?

Nothing but the willingness to do unglamorous manual work for a year. No audience, no product, no funding, no team. The roadmap assumes you're starting completely empty — that's the whole premise.

How long does it take?

Eight modules covering 365 days. The learning takes about a week; the doing takes a year. That's not a drawback — that's the point. Most people fail year one from randomness, not from lack of effort.

Module 1: The Reset — Days 1–14

Before tactics, the foundation: a real commitment, a real target, and killing the habits that keep you an employee in your own head. Two weeks of honest setup decides whether the next fifty work.

Module 2

Module 2: Pick Your Vehicle — Days 15–45

Not all ways of making money are equal. This module picks how you'll sell: an outcome-based offer aimed at a pain people already pay to fix, describable in one sentence.

Module 3

Module 3: One Skill, Sharp — Days 46–120

Module 4

Module 4: First Clients — Days 121–210

Skill without clients is a hobby. This is the module where money first changes hands: a tight offer, a daily outreach engine, and calls that diagnose instead of pitch.

Module 5: Deliver Like a System — Days 211–260

Outreach got you clients; visibility brings them to you. Forty days of showing the work in public, on one platform, with a clear door for buyers to walk through.

Module 7

Module 7: The First Product — Days 301–330

Services trade time for money; products don't. Your first small digital product turns what you know into something that sells while you sleep — and teaches you the product game cheaply.

Teardown: The Course Creator With No Clients

He spent eight months building an online course. Filmed 60 videos, built a beautiful site, ran a "launch" to his 800 email subscribers. Result: 11 sales at $199. He's now six months into "year one" with $2,189 in revenue and a growing sense that he picked the wrong game. Let's run the year-one framework on him.

What's working: He can execute — 60 videos is real output. He understands his topic deeply. And 800 subscribers means he did something right on visibility. The work ethic isn't the problem; the sequence is.

Where it breaks: He violated the Vehicle principle (Module 2). He picked "course creator" (a scale vehicle) before he had a service business (a cash vehicle). Courses sell to audiences; he had 800 subscribers and no proof anyone would pay. The course sequence is explicit: service first, product later (Module 7). Sell the transformation done-for-you ten times, then productize what you learn. He built the product before validating the pain — a classic Paid Pain failure (Module 2). Eleven sales at $199 is the market telling him the pain wasn't painful enough, or wasn't his to solve.

The deeper problem: He skipped the Outreach Engine (Module 4) entirely. Zero manual outreach — no calls, no DMs, no "I can solve this for you" conversations. He tried to go from zero to scale without passing through the manual phase where you learn what people actually pay for. The Revenue Math (Module 7) is damning: at $199 with a 1.4% conversion, he'd need 36,000 subscribers to hit $100k. With a $3,000 service and ten clients, he'd already be at $30k — with conversations teaching him exactly what to productize next.

The verdict: This is a Module 2 + Module 4 + Module 7 compound failure. The fix isn't a better launch — it's a rewind. Pick the service vehicle, run manual outreach for 90 days, deliver for ten clients, then build the course from what you learned. Year one is for cash and proof, not scale. He didn't fail at business; he played year-three game in year one. The framework would have told him that on day 15.
